- Does Riveltis certify or assess us?
- No, and the distinction matters. CMMC certification assessments are performed by an authorised third-party assessment organisation, and AS9100 certificates are issued by accredited registrars. Riveltis prepares the organisation and its evidence for that assessment. Preparing and assessing the same organisation would compromise the independence of both.
- What is the difference between readiness and compliance?
- Compliance is a claim. Readiness is the state where every control has evidence that a stranger can locate, follow, and accept under questioning. Most failed assessments involve organisations that were compliant in intent and unready in evidence.
- How long does readiness take?
- Typically eight to sixteen weeks, driven by how much evidence already exists rather than by the size of the framework. An organisation with mature records and poor organisation moves quickly. One where controls were never actually operating moves slowly, because the work is implementation and not documentation.
- We failed a previous assessment. Is that a problem?
- It is useful. Prior findings are the most reliable map of where evidence actually breaks down, and reopening them is usually the fastest route to a defensible baseline.
- What happens after the assessment?
- The owner cadence is the deliverable that matters most. Named owners and a review rhythm keep the baseline true, so the next assessment is a checkpoint rather than another project.
